Cookie Policy

Last updated 2 October 2026

This is our current policy and it applies to your use of this website. We review these documents periodically and will update the date above when they change. If anything here is unclear, or you would like a copy, contact us.

This policy lists every cookie this website sets. Not categories, not examples — the actual list.

All of them are strictly necessary for the website to work or to keep it secure. There are no analytics cookies, no advertising cookies and no social-media cookies.

1. What a cookie is

A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep, so that it can recognise your browser on your next request. Without them, a website cannot tell that you are still the person who signed in a moment ago.

2. The complete list

These are all of them.

  • clc_session — keeps you signed in to the attorney portal or administrative area. Strictly necessary. Expires when your session ends, at most 12 hours.
  • clc_csrf — protects forms against cross-site request forgery, an attack that would otherwise let another website submit a form as you. Strictly necessary. Expires when your session ends.
  • clc_consent — remembers that you have seen and dismissed our cookie notice, so we do not show it again. Strictly necessary. 12 months.
  • cf_clearance — set by our anti-spam provider to confirm that a form submission came from a person rather than a script. Strictly necessary. Around 30 minutes.

3. Analytics

We measure how the website is used with a self-hosted system that sets no cookies at all and keeps its data on our own server. It is not loaded on the intake pages or in any secure area.

4. Advertising

There are none. No advertising pixels, no conversion tracking, no remarketing tags.

5. Why there is no consent banner blocking this page

Consent is generally required for cookies that are not strictly necessary. Every cookie we set is strictly necessary, so there is nothing to consent to, and putting a blocking dialogue in front of you to collect consent we do not need would be theatre.

If we ever add a cookie that is not strictly necessary, this policy will be updated and a working preference control will be provided at https://chicagolegalconnections.com/legal/privacy-choices before that cookie is set.

6. Controlling cookies yourself

Every browser lets you see, delete and block cookies. Blocking the ones listed above will stop you being able to sign in to a secure area, and may stop forms from submitting.
