Chicago Legal Connections is an intake and attorney-connection service. We gather and organise factual information about a legal matter and, where appropriate and where you have consented, make that information available to one or more independently licensed Illinois attorneys so they can consider whether to offer you representation.
4. We are not a law firm, and we are not your attorney

Nothing on this website is legal advice. The educational material explains how certain kinds of matters generally work; it is not advice about your situation, and your situation may differ in ways that change the answer entirely.
5. No attorney-client relationship is created by using this website
No attorney-client relationship is created by browsing this website, by completing an intake form, by uploading a document, by telephoning us, by exchanging emails or text messages with us, or by speaking with an intake specialist or an investigator.
An attorney-client relationship is created only between you and a licensed attorney, directly, on terms that attorney sets out to you — normally in a written engagement agreement.
6. Non-attorney personnel do not give legal advice
Our intake specialists and investigators gather factual information, explain how our intake process works, document incidents, and where properly engaged help preserve evidence.
They do not and may not give legal advice, express a legal opinion, tell you whether you have a valid claim, tell you what a claim might be worth, or advise you on any deadline. If anyone representing this service appears to be doing so, please tell us.
7. No guarantee of representation
Submitting an inquiry does not mean an attorney has agreed to take your matter, and we cannot promise that one will.
Attorneys decide independently. Their decision may depend on the type of matter, the jurisdiction, conflicts of interest, their current capacity, and their own professional judgment. If no participating attorney is able to assist, we will tell you and point you toward other resources.
8. No guarantee of results, and no deadline calculation
Nothing on this website is a prediction or a promise about the outcome of any matter. Prior results do not guarantee a similar outcome.
This website does not calculate limitations periods or any other legal deadline, and it must not be relied upon for that purpose. Deadlines in Illinois vary with the type of claim, who is involved, the age of the person affected, and other circumstances. Only a licensed attorney reviewing your actual situation can advise you on a deadline.
9. Attorney independence
Attorneys who participate in this network are independently licensed and solely responsible for their own advice, their own professional judgment, their own fees and their own client relationships.
We do not supervise, direct or control an attorney's legal work, and we do not share in any legal fee. Listing an attorney is not an endorsement, a recommendation, or any representation about the quality of their work.
10. The information you give us
You agree that the information you submit is true and accurate as far as you know, and that it is yours to submit or that you have permission to submit it.

12. Intellectual property
The text, design, graphics and arrangement of this website belong to us or to our licensors. You may read, print and share pages for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not republish, resell or systematically copy them.
13. Third-party links
Where we link to another organisation — a court, a bar association, a legal-aid service, a licensing body — we do so because it may be useful. We do not control those websites and are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.

18. Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Subject to section 18, the state and federal courts located in Cook County, Illinois have exclusive jurisdiction.
20. Changes
We may change these terms. The date at the top will change, and a material change will be flagged prominently rather than quietly republished. Continuing to use the website after a change means you accept the revised terms.
21. General
If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest remains in force. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Legal Disclaimer and Cookie Policy, are the whole agreement between us about this website.
